JC Simmons & Associates philosophy is to invest in early stage emerging growth and innovative companies. We seek companies that have achieved some measure of acceptance of their unique products or services through test or limited markets and are now pursuing expansion strategies. Companies competing in all industries are considered for investment.

The key criterion for investment is management strength. To us, it is all about people. We look for commitment, leadership and sound judgment in management teams. Once identified, our job is to enable success with the provision of appropriate governance, mentorship and last, but not least, capital.

On an ongoing basis we take a very active role in our investee companies. Frequently we will assume active functions relating to strategic planning, corporate finance and corporate development. In the past we have sought out and negotiated acquisitions for our investee companies, structured comprehensive licensing arrangements and completed financings. Given our high degree of involvement, we limit our investments to a small number of companies allowing us to give a great deal of our attention to our companies. We think this sets us apart from other financiers and improves the probability of success.
